غزل ليکوندې= ستر خوشال خان خټک بابا

ژباړه کٶندې = جاٶېد اقبال خليل غورؽاخېل 

ټاکوندې = نورالسلام سنګر


پۀ ابا و پۀ اجداد خان وسردار یم

Since my forefathers I am an important chieftain 

کارنامې لـــرم د جنګ او د جدال 

I am renowned & have a known history of killings & battles 


که بــــری که هزیمت واړه لیدلي

I have tasted both victories & defeats in my life

خــوی خصلت لرم د قتل د قتال 

I am well-versed & can absorb the bloody violence of warfare


پلار نیکۀ مې شهیدان و ګور ته تللي

Many were buried as martyred among my forefathers

پشت پۀ پشت مې دا هنر دی آل پۀ آل

As from generations warfare is my craft & honour


که د جنګ د پرهرونو  درته وایم

If I narrate about my injuries sustained in battles

چې لۀ درده بۀ مې تن ؤ لکه نال 

They give my body pains like horseshoes to a horse  


یو پرهر به مې لا روغ پۀ وجود نۀ ؤ

While my body has not recovered from one injury yet

بل پرهر بۀ مې پۀ تن ؤ یا پۀ ډال 

Next injury is ready to be inflicted upon my body or shield 


چې قضا د سړي نۀ وي سړی نۀ مري

One doesn't taste death if one is destined to live longer

که یې درست وجود پۀ غشیو شي غربال 

You live even though your entire body is riddled with arrows


نن بۀ درست د هندوستان دولت د دوي وو

Today they would have been ruling the entirety of India

پښتـانۀ که کم همت نۀ وى جهال

If the Pashtuns were not so senseless & courageless


یګانه که زر ځوانان لۀ ما سره وى

If I alone am accompanied by a thousand youngsters

نور زما ؤ پۀ پنجاب باندې یرغال 

I would have the courage to invade Punjab at once


که هر څو یې سازوم رانه کږيږي

No matter how I try to reform them they remain crooked

پښتانۀ دي د کږو کاڼو دېـــــــوال 

Pashtuns are like out-of-shape stones in a wall


خدایه دومره مهلت ورکړې پۀ جهان کښې

The Almighty is prayed to extend my life & grant me time

چې کاږۀ کارونه سم کاندي "خوشحال"

So as to enable Khoshal to straighten this twisted lot
