کله ړوند غوندې ملا واقف د راز دې

Could a literally blind clergyman be privy to secrets?

د کتاب د مسلو زبان دراز دې

He only expresses religious texts in a parrot-like fashion

زه بنده د هغه کس ؽم ترې زارېږم

I only follow such people & admire them

چې د زړه سره ٸې جوړ د خلې اواز دې

Whose heart beats are synchronized with his voice

چې يې رٶ د زړه د خلې سره ؽٶ نه وي

If his heartbeats are not in tandem with what he says

که په هر مانځه اودس کا بېنماز دې

His prayers/ablutions are useless even if he offers them regularly

وار په وار زما په زړه کا هسې چارې

again & again she invades my heart in such ways

که د سترګو ٸې غمزى دي آو که ناز دې

Is it twinkling in her eyes or her tantrums

لا به ډېر ګلونه وا شي په دا باغ کښې

many more flowers are yet to be seen in this garden

د ګللزار د غوړېدلو اوس اغاز دې

It is just the beginning of the flowers to blossom

څوک به نه ٶي چې به غاٶ ورباندې نه کا

Is there anybody who has not thrown anger at him?

د هر چاو ملامت ته عاشق ساز دې

A lover is a punching bag for everyone

چې عزت ترې پېدا کيږي قناعت دې

It is contentment that begets respect

چې خواري ورځني زېږي هغه آز دې

It is greed that breeds problems

زه خوشال د خپله بخته دلګير نه ؽم

I Khoshal Khattak is not unhappy with my fortune

چې زما ستوري ځاؽ دښمن ګداز دې

Because my horoscopic stars don't do enmity with me
