غزل ليکوندې = ستر خوشال خټک بابا

ژباړه کوندې = جاوېد اقبال خليل غورؽاخېل 

ټاکٶندې = نورالاسلام  سنګر

In this poem the great Khoshal describes a painter & his creative skills



 

صورت ګر چې ښۀ صورت په ديوال ساز کا

When an artisan paints a pretty portrait on a wall 

کل  عالم ٸې په   صفت   زبان  دراز    کا

All & sundries flatter & applaud the the drawing


د  هغۀ     نقاش   په   صنع  نظر   نۀ   کا

No one however pays attention to the artist's creativity

چې لۀ څۀ څاڅکي نه دا نقش و طراز کا

Neither do they realize about what drops he used for the painting 


سترګې وروځې پوزه نور کېږي په مخ کښی

Eyes, eyebrows & nose are drawn in the face expertly

غاښ  و  شونډې  ژبه  خولۀ  سره  پرداز  کا

Teeth, lips, tongue & mouth are added to accomplish the job


يو سر بل سر په سر جوړ کا دوه غوږونه

On each side of the head are drawn two ears

چې  په    دواړه   اورېدنه   د    اواز   کا

Both these ears are used for hearing any sound 


بند په  بند  د  لاسو  ګوتې  وبله  کېږدي

Gradually he paints the fingers of each hand too

سر تر پايه درست صورت سره يو راز کا

From head to toe, the entire body is completed

که  څوک  زر  کتابه  وکښي  له دې بابه

If someone reads a thousand books in this context

که کښل شي زر به نور  پسې  اغاز  کړه

Yet he needs a thousand more to learn & start how to draw


هر ويښتۀ چې  په  صورت  باندې  ليدۀ  شي

Every hair which is seen in this portrait

که پرې ځير شې د شناخت ور به درته واز کا

If scrutinized then the door of his identity is opened to you


خاص بنده د خدائے هغۀ ګنه خوشحاله

Khoshal! Isn't the artist a special person of God or not?

چې د ځان په  معرفت  ئې  سرفراز  کا

So that through recommendation I could reward him




Translation of difficult words used in the poem:


پرداز = Accomplish or complete

معرفت= Recommended or Introduction

ځير = Scrutiny, To look deeply

کښل = کشل، کش Draw 

صورت ګر = انځورکار،  Painter or Artisan

صنع = Create, Creativity

څاڅکې = Drop

اورېدنه =  Hearing

بند په بند = One after another, gradually, methodically

ٶېښته= Hair

بابه، باب= Context, In this regard
